Pauletts CHA Clare Valley Chardonnay (2021)

I also tried this as a follow on to the Albariño in The Cheesy Grape in Henley-on-Thames on the recommendation of my host there, Rob. The oaky aroma that was quite pronounced in the beginning has faded away by the last drop. However, I very much enjoyed the acidity of this wine. Quite often I find that some Chardonnays can be a bit too sweet for my taste. But this one hit the spot.

The tertiary characteristics didn’t translate to the palate, Rob suspects that could be because they use oak staves instead of oak barrels. But at the price point, this is a very enjoyable wine to drink so I don’t mind!
