Château Moulin de Peyronin Clairet (2022)

This was one of several wines that we tried in the Bar À Vin in Bordeaux itself. I think it’s my first Clairet, a Rosé but deep in colour and often full-bodied. The producer is based in Pujols, near Castillon la Bataille. This is somewhere east of Saint-Émilion.

A curious wine, for sure. I wasn’t sure what to make of it. Some interesting herbaceous notes, but at the same time sweeter than I would have expected from something this colour. But not unpleasant.
